Try the “shush pat” method from the Baby Whisperer! Or any of her methods. :) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ-E6TqkncQ

i heard if you lay them down face first then slowly turn them to the side then back it helps but i haven’t had the chance to meet any of my babies yet so idk if it works

Babies have a startle reflex. Which might be jolting him awake. Try keeping him close to you as you lay him down, and then putting his feet down first, then bum, then back and then head. It’ll limit the startle. Then keep your hands on him in the hold position so it feels like you’re still holding him and gradually let go. I’ve been doing this and it’s been helping. I have a 7 week old for reference

Yeah very normal. First two months they like to contact nap/sleep. Try swaddling and sound machine

Put him to sleep first before putting him down, nurse him until he falls asleep, then put him down slowly, butt first , head last , make sure the bed is warm before putting him down, I used a heating pad, then once he is down and still sleeping, pat on his but gently in a very slow motion, it also helps to put them to sleep in quit dark room with a bit of music in the background, either you singing or some classical music playing, I used to play classical music with rain sounds , because it's like white sound. Then move away slowly, also helps if you put a shirt that smells like you in his crib . If he wakes up and starts crying hold him back immediately, and comfort him, the more they get anxious and scared the more it will be harder for you put them to sleep later. Don't let your baby cry , trust me , I know it's hard , but it's soooo worth it , you will see slowly how he will start trusting you more and more and sleeping better and becoming more and more confident.

Is the cot quite wide? We had a next to me and a Moses basket and for the first couple of months or so baby preferred the Moses basket, I think because it was narrower. I would remove the mattress and lie on it so it got warm and had my scent. I did also use a hot water bottle in the cot for warmth but make sure to remove it before placing baby. Babies can’t regulate their temperature so a heat pad in with them will just make them too hot. I always laid baby down on her back to reduce SIDS. I would also keep baby close as I laid her down and scooped her up when she cried.

If he’s in hysterics hold him, co sleep safely. Newborns need that comfort and safely. They literally don’t even know they are a seperate person from you. I know co sleeping isn’t for everyone but neither is the cot for a lot of babies, no matter what you try and leaving them hysterically crying isn’t good for either of you

I tryed a stuff animal a small one and it worked for my baby ... bc she had something that smell like me ...

And now she sleeps will stuffed animals everynight and gets great sleep

Swaddle and try to be as close to baby as you can. Contact naps work best till they are 3-4 months.
