Word of advice

For what you are planning on packing in your hospital bag.

I'm not sure how different the regular nursery is because my daughter was in the NICU but here's what I discovered from my delivery...

Pack clothes for yourself but mainly for the going home day because you'll mostly in the hospital gown and it will be easier just to wear the gown. I was given the disposable underwear there and after a vaginal birth that's all I was able to handle. They also have my grippy hospital socks.

Bring your own shampoo/conditioner, body wash and toothbrush and toothpaste.

You will not need all the extra onesies babies are typically without clothes and just swaddled. Just bring an outfit for new born photos of your hospital offers it and then a going home outfit for your child.

Write down your pediatrician information name, location, fax and phone numbers and your child doctor name. You will not be able to leave until they have this information. With that being said if you haven't called a doctor to get your child set up with a pediatrician doctor start calling everyone in my area either had too long of a waiting list or didn't accept new borns.

That's all I can think of at the moment if I think of anything else I'll let you know.

Bring snacks and water. They say you cant have any so they dont give you any incase you have a c section but the chances of you aspirating are super low. Remember hospital policy is not law and they cant turn away a laboring woman.

I knew I was going to forget one. I didn't have food for a while I think it was almost 12 hrs I'm not sure though. My nurse got my these cookie things while waiting for dinner and they let me order food almost as soon as the delivery was done

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Homebirth?

I am thinking I want a homebirth (second baby) for a few different reasons but my husband is very against it, he is worried about things going wrong and we are a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you end up doing? Any advice? 🙏
