Inductions

I would love to know if anyone has a planned induction date and their reasons for choosing so despite the increased risks? I'm trying to make my decision and would just love to hear other people's reasonings and thoughts behind scheduled inductions.

I am. I’m getting induced on May 2nd with my baby boy. I will be 37 weeks and 5 days. My reasoning is we live 40 minutes from the hospital, plus my man would be at work if I go into labor naturally. Plus it takes out any complications of not being ready fully, it happening randomly, not having to panic trying to get me to the hospital and it takes off so much anxiety and stress. This is my first baby and I will be doing it all with no medication and no epidural. I can let you know how it goes if you want as I get induced in 4 days.

My OB is kind of making me depending on my heath conditions

My OB is really pushing me to be induced may 1st at 38 weeks due to my history of hypertension. I have really mixed feelings about going through with it due to the risks and that I don’t want an extended hospital stay or more interventions. I’d feel more comfortable with waiting until 39 weeks, both for my baby’s development and because I’d really like to give my body the chance to start labour on its own when it is ready.

I chose an induction because I was at 41+5 weeks with my first baby. I experienced numerous scary complications due to placental degradation during labor which has solidified my choice in doing an earlier induction if baby doesn’t come by 40 weeks with the next one I try a VBAC on. First ended in an emergency C-section.

I don’t have one as of yet I want to go in labor on my own but if not induction is an option from my ob but not until 39 weeks so I have a little more time

I am being induced April 30th I'll be 38 weeks 2 days and we are doing this because I can no longer eat food only.liquids. I cannot walk any more and constant off and on labour. So it's non stop pain. So they picked to let him out early as well as I have weak uterus muscles and prolapsing problems

I’m going in for ripening today and induction tomorrow! I have moderately high amniotic fluid and my baby boy is in the 99th percentile, so there is some concern about cord prolapse due to this. It’s medically the safest option for me and baby which is why we were recommended it by my OB

I’m being induced in two weeks at 38 weeks pregnant for medical reasons! I’m all for it as my health is important too and I want to be okay for my baby and have her be okay as well xx I read up on it a lot and I’m confident and comfortable in the advice my consultant and midwife have given me about it! I’ve recently read on here tons of positive induction stories which has been nice, because I see a lot of negative responses about induction. But, as always, it’s completely your choice. If you don’t want it, don’t do it. Good luck 🍀
