Regardless he still has to pay so yes I would. If he says child may not be his, a dna would be needed

@Kayleigh would he get PR with the DNA?

Ermm... I think if you refuse him on birth certificate it has to go to court. Then yes he can be put on there

Obviously being on birth certificate gives you PR

@Kayleigh he doesn’t deserve to be on there with how he treated me and baby

@Kayleigh with PR can he control us?

Don't agree to DNA unless he organises it himself. Then you'll probably have to. I went thru this too but my bd was denying his son

I don't think he can just give you child support without having any kind of parental rights. Now with domestic violence, if he does drugs, etc, then that's a different story. I would check with a layer to be sure though.

Ahh I totally get it. Similar situation myself... manipulation, control, violent bully. He has to take you to court for this to happen

PR means he gets a say in most big decisions made for child as they grow

He said he will deny our son on purpose to get dna to apply as he wants to be on the birth certificate. He said I deserve no maintence because I didn’t put him on it so deserve to go through the dna etc @Mel @Kayleigh @Stephanie

Hmm. Let it go, close the door and don't entwr into any conversations with him. You don't need his money. You in UK? If you ar you'll be fine on your own financially. Fk him. Speaking from experience....

@Stephanie he can if he considers the child his. But he's clearly being a total a hole

@Kayleigh not necessarily true. Being married automatically gives you parental rights. That's it. It all varies by state obviously but usually unmarried fathers still have to petition for rights and that usually includes a paternity test.
