Should I book an appt with my clinic?

We struggled with infertility and eventually got pregnant on my 4th cycle of Clomid with baby number 1.

We really wanted a close age gap, but my little girl is 14 months old and we’ve been TTC#2 for almost 6 months…

I want to book an appt with my fertility specialist, but I had a c-section and I’m worried they’ll judge me for TTC from about 10 months postpartum.

What do I do??

Do I keep trying until I’m 18 months postpartum and then go? Or do I wait until I’m 18 months + “12 months” - the time it takes a normal couple to conceive before going back to my clinic (i.e. end of 2025 😭)

I'd say book an appointment. It's different for those of us going through fertility treatments. Our timelines get all wonky. And my experience with trying to get pregnant is that the biggest questions they ask once your kiddo is around the 18 month mark is if you are still breastfeeding. If they are really close together they can worry that you haven't healed yet.

But I would go ahead and schedule. No one's going to judge you for wanting a second baby. At most they will just have concerns about your health. But it's not going to be judgey.

Thank you so much for your reply 🤗 it makes a lot more sense when you phrase it like that!

I actually stopped breastfeeding at about 6 months (low supply/struggling with latch etc), so it’s been almost 9 months of her being exclusively formula-fed, maybe that will help.

I’m going to chat to my husband and see what we do… I’m just so broody at the moment, it’s hard! 😆

I hear that. I stopped birth control right around 16/17 months. We had a few months of trying/not trying (I put it as we weren't tracking, but we weren't not trying) and then we started being more intentional.

Best of luck!

Fertility clinics are in the business of getting people pregnant. They’re not going to judge. The recommended wait time is different for every individual based on their age and other factors. We waited a year bc I wanted to breastfeed that long and I dont ovulate while breastfeeding.

Anyone had a super early postive ?

Hi am i seeing things ? It's only 6 dpo. I had a chemical pregnancy start of February then a period then a positive ovulation strip a week ago Could this be the left over after the chemical ? It just seems so early. This is an early detection test. This came up within 2 minutes of dipping and it says to wait 3 minutes. I've taken two after that arnt as early detection but still what I think are faint positives ? All appeared withing the recommended time frames xxx

At 8DPO negative test result

At 8 DPO not even a faint line , a straight negative test . So does that means it’s a no pregnancy for me this month . Or there are future chances for hcg to rise

I'm so not meant to be a mother.

My kids won't listen to me get into stuff when they know they aren't supposed to. Telling me no all the time. Only listen to their dad. Laughs when I correct them. I spend most of my time yelling at them because they don't want to listen to me at all. My husband said that I shouldn't have kids. And I am believing him on it. I was never meant to be a mother now. I won't hurt my kids I just want to disappear and make everyone else's lives better without me.
