Adoption of step child

Hi everyone. I wonder if anyone can please help. We are currently in process of my partner adopting my oldest son. His dad has never been in the picture. They have requested us to reach out to my son’s dad for consent. Although I had stressed to them that I am blocked on all social media accounts. Seems as though he’s changed his number too as I’ve tried to call and it says the number is not recognised. I’ve text him also. Although he’s not even on the birth certificate and also never even met my son. They’ve obviously said the judge in court needs to see significant evidence that I have attempted to contact. But I have no way other than what I have already done. Has anyone else been through this or similar and can give any guidance or advice please? I just don’t want the fact I literally can’t contact my sons dad the reason why my son can’t be adopted by my partner who has been the best dad he could’ve ever wished for 😞

Can you try email? Or going through potentially mutual friends or his family? If you can prove that you have tried these, I would say this would count as significant evidence that you have tried, even if the attempts go unanswered

@Becky I would if I knew his email 🤦🏼‍♀️ we wasn’t that close. I don’t know his friends and also his family he only had his mum in which didn’t have social media and I’ve looked again she definitely isn’t on there. I’ve sent a text and tried to call and sent these screenshots I just feel like they don’t look good enough for effort and it’s stressing us out 😬 x

@Connie I’m sorry to hear that! It’s a tough situation 😩 hopefully the court can see that you have exhausted all means. Maybe even try sending a letter to an address (if you know one of course) if it gets returned to sender then you know he’s moved, or you will have proof of postage to last known address as well. Fingers crossed the court falls on your side 🤞

@Becky that’s a good point sending a letter signed and recorded or whatever it is so I have proof! Thank you! I really hope so. My boy deserves 2 forever parents in writing not just words xxx

@Connie you are most welcome! Keeping everything crossed for you 🧡
