Adoption as a single mum?

What is the likelihood of being able to adopt as a single mum to 1 working part time? It breaks my heart to think of my son never having a sibling.

Salaam Sister, I would kindly advise that with adoption you should analyze the reasons for adopting. The driving factor should be centered around providing trauma informed care and support to an orphan, otherwise it is a slipper slope into human trafficking where essentially people are purchasing a child. What if the adopted child has more trauma than you thought and can not bond with you or your son ever? What if the child was stolen from their family? How can you ensure deep cultural connection to the child’s background. Adoption subhanallah is serious and if you don’t breastfeed them your son won’t be a Mahram or they can’t be a Mahram to you when they’re past puberty if you have adopt another boy. Just my advice to really think about and to maybe take a course on trauma informed best practices for adoption ❤️ May Allah make it easy for you and your son 🤍
