What to put baby in

I am so confused with what to put baby in for bed. My 3 snd a half month old goes to sleep around 8.30 when our room is around 19/20°c and the room can drop to around 16/17°c throughout the night so I have no idea what to put her in! She's currently in a sleep suit and a 2.5 tog but she sleeps all night so I can't really wake her up to change her into something else?!

It’s either vest , sleepsuit and 2.5tog or sleepsuit and 2.5tog.

Could put a short sleeved vest under the sleepsuit so it’s not too hot when it’s 19 but a bit extra warmth for when it’s 16/17?

My home is regularly the same as you and I generally put my little one in a long sleeve bodysuit and a 2.5 tog sleep sack. If it was falling below 15 I'd add a sleep suit or if it rose above 21 I'd change the sleeping back for either a cooler one or a sleepsuit

Thanks all. Xx

I would put a best under sleepsuit

How did you all put them in sleep bags mine is 5 months and wakes herself up every 10 min becoz of her arms. Please advise me

@Sophie see to me that's too many layers, if anything I was worried she had too much on anyway! It's such a mine field isn't it! X

@Aleena mines been in one since she was born!

@Aleena yeah same, she’s been in one since the day she was born. So don’t really know what to advise there, sorry!

Hi lovely! Here are some good guidelines for you! Xx

I still stress about this 7 months down the line but hope this helps! Xx

My little boy just has pjs and 2.5tog sleepbag. This week though he has been waking up more often and feels really sweaty so I've just been using a cellular blanket instead of sleepbag and put a vest under his pjs x

It very much depends on your baby. I think my baby would be sweaty if he wore more layers than a sleep suit and 2.5 tog bag. Our room is around the same as yours. I am however paranoid about him getting too hot!

@Aleena hi Aleena, most sleep bags for babies over 3m all have normal sleeves for babies so your LOs arms would be free. My baby does a lot of arm flapping as well, but she always goes to bed in a sleep bag. She’s worn one since birth, and even with the smaller sleep bags there’s usually an option to unbutton the arm holes so they can have their arms free. It’s just baby’s preference, mine hated being swaddled.
