Is anyone else’s baby in this group not saying any words consistently?

How far behind are we?

My daughter is still mostly babbling

My daughter was babbling up until about 1.5 months ago when she magically woke up and decided to start saying about 30 words 🙃 I was worried but everyone kept saying “in their own time they will…” and she did!

Waiting on my son to start. He's babbling up a storm every day so I know it's only a matter of time before he looks me dead in the eye and starts with the words.

Mine just babbles really. She doesn't say any words, but she signs a couple things occasionally.

Mine is still babbling and using sign language! She uses about 10-15 words accurately but it’s gibberish most of the day

My daughter didn’t do anything. Then one day was babbling all over and then a couple months later started just spitting mad words out! I was super worried but she was always behind on everything, rolling, crawling, walking, and talking

Yup but who gives a fvck. They gonna pick up words but not feel ready to say them. My daughter talks to herself before she falls asleep and in the middle of the night because she just practicing words she’s heard. Then she’ll use them in a totally random sentence and that’s when we explain what it is/means and she’ll start using it right. Just let them be🤷‍♀️

My baby says some but not really. It's just babbling

Don't worry too much (I know easier said than done😅) my oldest kiddo didn't talk until closer to 3 and mostly signed before that My son (2 in July) has been talking nonstop in little sentences but was late to walk, didn't walk until after 1st bday. The milestones can really vary, what did your pediatrician say that the 18 mo appt?

My girl doesn’t really say anything she mostly babbles, my doctor recommended her going to speech and developmental therapy so we’re on a waitlist. But I think just staying patient and working with them helps. She definitely grew from the time the doctor gave me the referral to the time she got evaluated.

Idk my daughter can say up to 3-4 word phrases but i think every kid is different. I would be concerned around 2.5 years old

If you don’t already try reading frequently, make it part of their routine to increase their vocabulary

My son only says maybe 4 or 5 words consistently but its majority still bables and mimicing sounds

We just started getting more words consistently. Teaching him signs has really helped us with the early communication. Highly recommend baby sign language if you aren't already.

@Alyssa she had some markers for autism so right now she is in speech and occupational therapy.

Thank you guys for the suggestions! We have always signed and read to her but nothing yet. Also ms rachel lol.

@Alayna my husband's mom teaches autistic preschoolers and she says it is so helpful for the kids who had early intervention and therapy ahead of time. She really sees the difference in her kids. (It's been really helpful talking to her since I'm constantly worried about delayed this or that).

My baby says maybe 7 words that barely sound like English to me but apparently they are words according to his two speech therapists. He’s almost 2

My kiddo is almost two, he chats but half of what he says is miprounced, made up gibberish and sign language and pointing or gestures 🤣

Mine mostly babbles. Says less than 10 words. We started speech therapy.

Mine only says a couple words but he's in speech therapy

My August baby doesn’t say any words yet, or point. Within the last two months is when she started walking.

No words yet. We’ve been in speech for over a month now and he’s starting to make more noises but not actual words yet

@Tiffany same here! She just started to make an “oh” sound but still no words or signs

My daughter for sure babbles in between the words she knows but she does this “duggah duggah duggah” sounding mumble and yea not sure what to do with that but it’s pretty cute when she does it. 🥹🥰😄

@Alayna yeah Louis makes the “oh”, “eee”, and “oooo” sounds. Yes also started saying yaaaa yaaa yayyy but does it when he’s excited and I’m not sure if he’s trying to say yay or yeah so I guess maybe one word if we count that. But honestly that’s all a new development within the last two weeks
