My daughter was the same. Only started eating more solids once I started weaning her off breastmilk during the day (I went back to work and had to slowly drop feeds as I didn't want to pump). Every couple of weeks I would drop a feed and she would slowly increase solid food intake. Did you try similar already?

@Mirka yea sort of she’s on 3 bottles 180, 210, 210, and I’ve tried to drop the middle feed but she will just scream and scream even though I try lunch before that bottle she just won’t have it

Have you tried letting her feed herself? My baby wasn’t into solids until I gave her finger food to try. Chicken was the big winner. Now she’ll let me feed her anything. This was around the 7 month mark so it could be trickier now that some time has passed for yours. You could consult a community health nurse or speech therapist? Do you eat at the same time? I try to eat at the same time as baby to help socialise eating

@Bex yea I’ve tried letting her feed herself and that’ll end in her throwing everything off the plate, I try just giving her whatever I eat and she’ll take a bite spit and cry for another bite and do the same

As annoying as that is it just might be part of learning for her? I know that early days a lot ended up on the floor or out of her mouth, but I was encouraged that it was about exposure and not necessarily nutrition. But again we went through this at about 7 months. Sorry if this is not at all helpful. I would definitely consult a health professional if you’re concerned

Hm, mine didn't scream. As Bec said, it might be worth it to consult a health professional or nutritionist to get some advice ever to do in this situation. You could try making it fun and unusual like putting finger foods in a muffin dish, feeding her green beans with your mouth etc

For my girl the food intake improved when I did the below - I went from mixed spoon feeding to full BLW (letting her eat what she wants and when she wants), this includes letting her explore food through play and taste. - and offering food BEFORE milk feeds. - reducing milk. They don’t need as much milk at this age it’s only for comfort. I still gave my baby milk and I still do now (and she’s 2), but I just reduced the quantity. It just meant she got more of an appetite and started eating her solids more. I know you said in the above comment you offer 3 milk feeds and she cries if you don’t offer it. So you could try offering milk in a cup for that middle feed? From memory, I cut the morning milk so she just had a bottle before her nap in the middle of the day and one before bed at night. Also, you could try offering milk in an open cup for the first two feeds, so take a snack and they don’t drink as much as if it was a bottle etc. and stick to the bigger one before bed.
