Sex after episiotomy

When does the pain stop… I waited 6 weeks to have sex after my episiotomy which got infected and opened back up, now has closed by scar tissue forming. I got the all clear at my 6 week checkup so we had sex but I had to stop after like 30 seconds it so so painful 😫 does the pain get any better ?

Following - I had read somewhere the first time is painful 😔

I'm personally waiting 3 months cos I can't imagine the pain and putting myself through this

I didn’t have an episiotomy this time, but I did two years ago, it didn’t re-open/get infected we waited ten weeks due to lack of sleep and time, and it was alright and everything felt as before ever since x

I had an episiotomy in December 2020 with my first. I put my expert midwife peri prep your bits oil on my scar and massaged it so it wouldn’t go tight. It worked as I don’t have any pain, I didn’t have sex until 4 months pp however. It does get better! I’ve just had my second baby in March by section as I didn’t want it to open up my episiotomy scar or tear again X

It took 9 months for it to not feel uncomfortable when having sex for me. It wasn't painful just uncomfortable. It's like I could feel the scar tissue pulling as scar tissue doesn't stretch.
