Is there a right number of poops?

My son doesn’t seem to be having a hard time going.. but I have noticed that sometimes he doesn’t poop for a day. However other days he poop maybe 3 or 4 times. What is the right number of poops or is there no right number?

How old is he ?

8 weeks on the 11th

Everyone, of any age, should be pooping at least daily. Skipping 1 day is not a big deal, and as long as the poops are a normal consistency without mucus, blood, or pain/discomfort, there really isn't "too much poop" especially for a newborn still in the 4th trimester

10+ is considered diarrhea at this age. 3-4 is well within normal ♥️

@Charlotte and @Chrissy thank y’all

My pediatrician has told me that babies shouldn’t go 3 days without pooping but if they poop multiple times a day it’s totally fine.

@Nikki thank you. I thought I heard that once but I wasn’t sure.

@Nikki it depends how baby is fed. Breastfed can go up to a week without it being concerning due to how it is processed.

@Natalie I am still breastfeeding (13 months) and my baby poops so many times a day! 😂 I’m sure every baby is different but I’m just going on what my pediatrician told me 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Nikki i still am too at 21 months. Some days she goes a few times. Others not at all. I was told the week thing by HV when my daughter was a few weeks old.

@Natalie good to know!
