Potty training - poos!

So I’ve been potty training our little boy since last Thursday (he’s coming up 3) and he is doing amazing with peeing on the potty, even at nursery, no accidents. Just takes himself etc and is now in big boy pants and out of nappies but we have had poo accidents and yet to get one in the potty/toilet! Is this common so early in training and any tips to get him to poo on the potty? P.s I want to avoid nappies if possible so I don’t confuse him with him doing so well!

Apparently this is super common! It usually happens where they master it with peeing first then pooping then nighttime dryness so sounds like he's doing amazing for a short amount of time! What my mum said she did with me and I watched her do with my brother was she would randomly sit us on the potty If she heard us pass gas on the off chance it was a poo coming and then she'd sit with us for 5-10 mins and say shall we try and have a poo and she would mimick going for a poo to encourage us to do one in the potty and then if we could we'd get loads of praise a treat and a gold star on the chart

Thank you! I’m so proud of him 🥹 I’ll give that a try and see if we’re able to catch a poo. The sticker chart has worked so far for wees just I know kids can have more anxiety over the poos and I don’t want to put him off with the poo accidents!

With us it was a matter of time. We just kept reminding where the poos go and not making a big deal when there was a poo in the undies. It's super common apparently!
