Baby is six months and I sterilise

Do I still need to sterilise bottles after every use if it’s just expressed milk? I have been sterilising for up to five months and I’m so TIRED and have ezcema now on my hands cus of washing n sterilising like I don’t mind washing but sterilising takes up my time for every bottle I put in and take out n dry etc

I’ve just stopped sterilising as I’ve started weaning. I don’t sterilise baby’s bowls/spoons etc so I’ve stopped with the bottles. Plus everything is going in his mouth now including toys at playgroup that aren’t sterilised. I just make sure I wash them in hot soapy water. I know not everyone will agree with this but this is what I’ve decided to do. My little one is 6 months in 2 weeks.

I was told by my midwife that you don’t need to sterilise for breast milk so I never have for expressed milk! Apparently the risk of bacteria is in the actual formula rather than the bottles, so it doesn’t apply to breast milk 😊

You should until baby isn’t on formula anymore. :)
