Stomach and thyroid issues

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well! I’m hoping to hear from people who’ve had a similar experience and recovered.

I have Graves’ disease and I’m currently on PTU. About 3 weeks ago I had a sudden episode of feeling very weak, lightheaded, bloated, and aware of my heart rate. After resting and eating very gently, I slowly felt better and thought I was recovering.

Last Friday, after eating a heavier meal (turkey sandwich + sweet drink), I suddenly flared again and have felt unwell most of the weekend — lightheaded, weak, very gassy/bloated, and sensitive in my stomach. I notice I feel fine when I’m asleep, but when I wake up the symptoms return, especially bloating and that weak/lightheaded feeling.

I’m now sticking to very plain foods (soups, potato, carrot, rice) and resting, but mentally it’s hard not to worry that I’ve gone back to square one.

Has anyone else: • felt better for weeks and then flared after a food trigger? • had symptoms that improve during sleep but return on waking? • experienced gut issues + weakness with Graves’ disease or PTU?

Did it settle again for you? Any reassurance or shared experiences would really help 🤍 Thank you so much.

Hypothyroidism!

I’ve had it for almost 15 years. Pregnancy/birth didn’t help, but I’m finally back on the right track.

Medication, exercise, diet. ☑️

Anyone else struggle with their diagnosis?

Pregnancy Week by Week: Second Trimester

Week 6 and subclinical hypothyroidism

Hello all!

Hope you and your pregnancies and children are all doing well 🌻

I had my first blood test results back yesterday and everything was fine but my TSH was 5.9. The doctor was very relaxed and said it wasn’t at all extreme and put me on 50mg of L-Thyroxine. I started them today which is the first day of week 7.

It’s my first pregnancy and I’ve never had thyroid issues before so, whilst the doctor was very chill, I can’t help but be a bit worried. Naturally (and perhaps stupidly) I googled it when I got home and saw all the worst case scenarios of the baby being at risk for developmental and cognitive issues so I’ve got myself in a bit of a tiz wondering if I’m too late sorting out the issue etc 🙈

Anyone willing to share their experiences would be listened to most gratefully. Wishing you all the best! 🌻🕊️

Premature birth

How long did it take you to conceive baby number 2 if you’re in your mid 30s (34)?

I am also t1d and have Graves’ disease but on no meds as in range.
