Pumping

Pumping every 2-3 hours

How do y’all do it with pumping every 2-3 hours? I am 3 weeks postpartum and I have another a preschooler at home. I don’t have help during the day and I am overwhelmed with everything. I have tried setting a timer every 2 hours but I always seem to be in the middle of something where I just can’t stop and pump. I am don’t want to tell my husband that I can’t do it anymore because we are trying to save money and not buy formula. We did have to buy some formula because my supply isn’t the greatest to begin with but slowly getting there. Just with stress of pumping an missing pump sessions it’s not helping my supply.

One breast not emptying

I have been pumping for 11.5 weeks and all of a sudden one breast is only half emptying. I need to hand express the second half after my pump session finishes. My other breast is emptying fine with the pump. I've changed all the pump pieces and I've even tried a different pump but it's still happening. Can anyone suggest as to why this is happening and what I can try? I've measured my flanges and they seem to be correct, but I'm worried I might have elastic nipples, which I'm not entirely sure what that means. Any advice appreciated.

Pumping at night

My baby is 3 weeks old and my milk supply isn’t the strongest. I have been trying to increase it with more pump sessions and such. The one thing is pumping at night has started to affect me mentally. I am worried if I stop pumping at night my supply will decrease more. Has anyone else had this issue?

Pumping

Has anyone else ever experienced passing out while pumping?

Over the last couple of weeks this has happened to me a few times now and I’m not really sure how to explain it other than I seem to lose consciousness while pumping. It’s not immediate when I start pumping and I don’t really feel dizzy beforehand — it just seems to happen.

Today was quite a bad one. My partner found me slumped over with the pumps still running. My nipple had slipped out of the flange and is now quite badly bruised from the pump continuing, and I’d bitten both sides of my tongue at the back.

Apparently I was snoring when he found me, but when I woke up I felt very confused and extremely tired. This has happened a few times over the past two weeks.

For context:

My daughter is 8 weeks old

She feeds every 3 hours

She is EBM (expressed breast milk)

I exclusively pump because she tends to fall asleep at the breast and doesn’t take enough to satisfy her

I am obviously very tired from the newborn stage

I do have my 8-week postpartum check with my GP tomorrow, so I will definitely be mentioning it then, but I just wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced anything similar while pumping or knows what might cause it.

Just looking for some advice or shared experiences really.
