School run😡😡🫠

Sorry need to rant....

Does anyone absolutely hate school run!. Just find it takes most of my day up. As I do pick and drop off everyday. With two children in tow. We walk to school, as we're 10 mins away.

But mostly everyone drives in and parks on the road. Outside people's driveways and there isn't a pavement throughout and the cars block traffic. Just dangerous and really annoying.

It's the small talk, hoity toityiness of other parents. As a lot of parents are sending to my particular primary scho to save money for later on private school for secondary and keeping them in state till 8, as they say!πŸ™„πŸ˜…

I just like to get in and get out. Depressing realisation just started 10 years + of primary school. As my daughter started reception September just gone. My son will be starting in sept 2028. When my daughter will be in yr3. I just find it all a bit cliquey. Some of the parents are nice, too many Amanda's from Motherland here.

Parties & celebrations

Party bags/favours - help! πŸ™πŸΌ

Planning for my son’s birthday party this weekend and I don’t want to do the standard party bag as it’s a big cost for stuff that the kids usually don’t really care about, and feels wasteful (no judgement if you like doing them - it’s just not for me!) I’d like to get something though, and wondered if anyone had suggestions for something small that they could take away that they’d actually like? Last year I gave little dairy free chocolate lollies which I could do again, or bags of sweets, but open to different/ non food suggestions πŸ™πŸΌ

(Impossible to find a pic of him not doing a dinosaur roar atm πŸ˜…) πŸ¦–

Family

Challenging behaviour

My nearly 5 year olds behaviour has really declined over the past few months. She simply does not listen to us, is really rude, ignores her dad when he's talking to her and is constantly annoying her younger brother. When she's without her brother, she is amazing and she's so good in school but at home, she's just really badly behaved and constantly attention needing, any attention is good.
I initiate games and activities with both children but the minute I leave the room she hurts/annoys her brother or is sabotaging the game in some way. I've tried so many things- sticker charts, working towards charts, positive praise, spending individual time with her. I'm at my wits end with it as it's making our family home a really negative and draining place to be at the moment. Any advice please? X

Baby swimming

Swimming anixety

Hi everyone, I'm asking for advice and reassurance.

I feel really bad, I haven't taken my daughter who is over 4 and a half swimming yet. She was a covid baby and I hate swimming at the best of times and not a confident swimmer. She's just started school and I really feel I need to expose her to swimming before she starts at school. My parents weren't keen on swimming and never took me. I don't want that for my daughter. Also classes are expensive, is it worth it. I might try classes once she starts at school. Thanks in advance.
