Baby & toddler food

Extremely fussy!

Is anyone dealing with a really fussy toddler? He will only eat a handful of different things and is not keen on trying new things. The only way he will try something new is if I sneak it in his mouth, otherwise he will turn his head, cry and run away. He has a strong reaction to foods he doesn’t want to eat. I put a tiny bit of egg omelette in his yoghurt (pinky nail sized, maybe smaller) and he gagged so hard he threw up. He would tolerate ready dinners for 12+ m so slightly chunky but is now refusing them too. I am in process of getting seen by HV but it’s so difficult as nursery is pressing on me, thinking I’m not trying hard enough. Anyone has similar issues?

Baby sleep

20 month old waking in night

Hi everyone.

My little boy has always been a great sleeper but this last few weeks, he is waking up for an hour or two through the night. He wakes up and starts crying but easily settles - sometimes I put him back in his cot and he just happily plays in there for a good hour.

Checking nappies, temps, giving teething liquid, offering a snack and water… but nothing really seems to have been the issue to cause him to wake. Why would he keep waking? Or is it completely random. Want to know if I’m missing something obvious..

Thanks

Baby sleep

What a night!!!

Everything went wrong for me today. First up last week I forgot to get nappies on our weekly food delivery and didn’t go by a town to buy some at the weekend, just completely forgot in the joy of the sun. So I moved the our delivery date from Thursday to tonight last minute and grabbed whatever a lot was left which was 8pm. I thought it was all going to be okay but tonight was the night of my daughter not being able to sleep and wanting to stay in my arms which normally I love but I was conscious of the time getting closer to 8pm and that the shopping would be here soon. Every time I tried to transfer her she would scream like I placed her in a bed of nails and completely freak out. I was panicking she was panicking the dog was downstairs worrying about the cries upstairs. Then when I checked the food shop it was delay by an hour!! Hallelujah I could relax and help her settle properly into a full sleep. In total tonight it took 90 minutes to get her to sleep and it’s been 30 minutes since my shopping arrived and I still don’t have the energy to put it away, I just wait to sleep myself.

How has your night been?
