Here in Scotland my son will start primary 1 in 2028 when is 5 and a half. Wondering if it’s possible to have him start when he’s 4 and a half?

My daughter will start school next year (2027) and I have a few questions.

How and when do I apply?

When can I do view rounds for potential school?

Is there anything else I need to do? (Southampton area)

My lil one will start childminder next week in the UK. its our first, i have found this childminder in tiney app uk and I was just bothered why do I need to pay for baking ingredients for their cooking activities, art and craft materials for messy play such as cornflour play dough, glitter, glue and specialise learning resources, also personal care such as tissues, handsoaps, anti bac wipes, spray to keep the place clean, gloves and raw materials for activities classed as non food consumables. These are all business running cost and illegal top up fees as per uk government guidelines. However im a bit hesitant to reply to her email as I would just point it all out and it would create a wall in between us even before the session started. I don't want her to treat my child differently because of these. Husband said we would just pay £1 ( per day) rather than creating misunderstanding. Also it would be too late to back off now and my son would need to wait for placement if we decide to not continue with her. What would you do in this? I really don't know. Please share insights.
