Induction to emergency section at 37 weeks 😱
i turned 37 weeks on wednesday, had a regular OB appointment thursday morning but was already having mild contractions and worsening symptoms of preeclampsia. my OB immediate sent me to L&D, i was on the NST for a couple of hours, labs were drawn and i was almost going to be discharged until my nurse came in and said, 'your liver functions are too elevated so we're going to move you to a regular room for induction'. my husband and i looked at each other shocked and an hour later, i was given cervidil, 12 hours later it didn't work because i wasn't dilating at all. then i got 3 separate doses of cytotec, still nothing. so we went back to the cervidil around 6pm thursday. i was already having bad contractions but toughed it out. also, i had a foley put in and was on bedrest so the only moving i did was side to side on the bed. at 3am i was in terrible pain, not dilated, the baby's heart rate waa dropping and it became an emergency situation.
baby rafael was born friday at 3:31am via emergency section. it wasn't at all what we planned but it's what needed to happen for both of our healths and safety.
thanks everyone for your kind words.. being discharged today, can't wait to get this little chicken home! 🐣❤
