Sleigh Cot Bed Bumpers

I know bumpers aren’t safe but my 7m little boy is crawling and cruising. He now will pull himself up the side of the cot but keeps slipping and bopping himself. He used to go down awake or if I need the toilet he goes in there so I’m just worried about him really knocking himself. Also he has always slept in a sleep bag now that he’s moving about does he need to come out of that as I know they say no loose covers before a year. Has anyone got any useful safe sleeping tips please.

Sleep consultant here 👋🏼 You should keep him in a sleep sack with no loose blankets as long as possible, plus it does limit a baby’s ability to stand up and climb out of the crib. Whenever I have clients whose babies are hurting themselves on the crib, I recommend moving them to a pack and play for a couple of months. Pack and plays are perfectly safe and have soft sides all around so it’s much harder for a child to stand because there are no bars and even if they do stand up, the soft sides won’t hurt them.
