Post partum journey (2 weeks post partum)

Starting my post-partum journey. Goal: more energy, drink more water, work on sleep (as much as possible with newborn)... and to feel my best physically + mentally. Would love to hear other mamas post partum journey... are you breastfeeding? How do you feel?

You look great! I just had my son 2 months ago and trying to slowly get back into the groove of working out.

3 weeks post partum Trying to get sleep when I can Trying to eat all the foods I haven’t been able to eat the last 10 months- all meat plus more! Breastfeeding and getting a little more confident each day!😊

6 weeks and finally feel like I got this Mom thing down. Plus baby started smiling a while back, so that just makes the whole world brighter every day! I keep trying to get back into my yoga groove and somehow it just doesn’t happen. Last time I basically just laid on the floor for 15 minutes, but it was a nice rest anyway 😂

You look amazing mama! 🤗

Wow! You look great! Good for you!💪

6 weeks PP Breastfeeding and starting to really get the hang of it! Have been doing PP workouts with the matriarc app which you can get if you have an iPhone. And just started lifting weights and walking as much as I can. Trying to get back into running but struggling to get motivated and being able to find time to go running without the baby.

My little girl will be 5 months on the 13th. I hit a super hard patch that thankfully I’m on the other side of... depression. I felt lonely and isolated and like any part of my former life was gone. I since have found a great group of mama’s and started figuring out what my new normal is. It’s super hard bc my girl has had stranger danger since 2 months and refuses a bottle.

I had a gnarly tear that wouldn’t heal. The doctor STILL hadn’t cleared me for exercise and I’m almost 5 months postpartum. I feel bad because all these other mamas are kicking butt and I’m basically bedridden. Has anyone else had to recover from an injury in this way? Any tips?

Thanks! It’s nice to hear I’m not alone. How long did it take you to heal completely?

I head a bad tear as well. In my bum 😭 internal fissure I think is what it was called. The doctors couldn’t do anything as it had to heal on its own. I just focused on eating healthy, good carbs and walking as much as I could. But eating healthy is so hard when you are hungry all the time lol.you got this mama !

I am way pp with a 3 yr old and 1 yr old. I was able to lose baby weight pretty easily while bf. I held on to the last 5 lbs until my body quit nursing. Then when I quit nursing, I had to teach myself to eat normal portions sizes again.

lol same here! Still struggling with the last 5-10 with my 1 year old— she stopped bf at 10 mo (my first went to 18 mo), pumped for three months to get her through a year, but my supply tanked and so I gained another 5 without even realizing it! 🤦‍♀️

Learning how to navigate being a mother is difficult during the initial few months... even years! Don't put pressure on yourself to feel at your best both mentally and physically. Just try to take it easy and eat healing foods and rest when you can! Best of luck to you !

You look great! Im 7 weeks PP, i have been struggling really hard with PPD, this is my second baby so it's hard because i didn't feel this way with my first who is 6 years old. Im back at work as of this week, and have started working out in hopes it'll help as well

That's exactly what i try to do, stay moving and getting out of the house especially on nice days

Three months postpartum. Lost twenty pounds. Five pounds below prepregnancy. Want to lose 15-20 more. Breastfeeding.

I’m week 5 PP and just beginning to feel like the cloud is lifting. Week 2 & 3 were really tough and flew by!! I’m breastfeeding and it has been challenging as baby was born tongue tied. We’re working on it and every feeding can be different. Keep going mama, you’re doing great!!

I couldn't agree more! I'm almost 7 weeks PP. Week 2 and 3 were SO HARD and I thought it'd never end.... I'm feeling much much better about everything. (Today's been a rough one so far though... I do know he's tired so at least I know...but ugh he wouldn't stop crying all morning) It's so tough! We've got this though ladies ... Keep on going. I'm BF and that's been going great, again except today, it was just oddly awkward which it isn't normally... Off morning.

Looking good momma!! I am almost five months PP with second baby and this time around I am definitely more conscious of food, exercise and WATER!! I like how you mentioned focusing on loving the body now both mentally, physically and emotionally. I have always had a problem with that and trying to do better not only for me but my two gorgeous girls so that they do not develop body issues. Love the body that you have :)

Had my little one over 2 years ago. Every day is a learning moment. In the midst of weaning off nursing naturally. Still only at nap time and bed time. Water is definitely key!

Awe look at that tiny sweet baby! I miss them being so little— mine are 1 and 3 now. they grow so fast!! And you look great mama! I had the hardest time adjusting with my first. I don’t know if it was PPD but definitely some serious baby blues. All the crazy hormones and just going from being so independent and on the go to what felt like house arrest... getting out felt like it took an act of God— like I’d get all motivated and pack up a diaper bag (with way more stuff than I ever needed) try to get myself looking even a bit presentable and then I’d get spitup down my back or there would be a crazy blowout and then she would be hungry and I’d have to change me and her and ... and... lol. It gets easier.

7 weeks PP from emergency c-section. Ongoing pain and what they think is nerve damage in my lower abdomen 😔 Taking each day as it comes and hoping to start moving around more

4 weeks PP over here and I’m managing surprisingly well with sleep. Not gettingn long stretches in by any means but not feeling sleep deprived. My lady parts are still healing and I feel sore most days, especially if I sit on the floor/hard chair or stand too long. I have no idea how I will feel recovered enough for sex in two weeks! My baby girl eats every two hours and breast feeding is going really well! Still using a nipple sheild but confident once she gets bigger we won’t need it anymore. Soooo excited for warmer weather so we can go outside!

11 weeks postpartum C section with first child Breastfeeding exclusively which I love more.

3 months pp. breastfeeding both my 3 month old and 22 month old. Looking forward to nicer weather. To get outside and go for walks. Want to lose at least 10 pounds and tone up.

Almost 4 wks pp and can’t complain. Baby is eating every 2.5-3 hours. Breastfeeding and breast bottle feeding as we had a little difficulty gaining weight at first case she would fall asleep on the boob. Went from 6lbs to almost 8lbs already. Drink lots of water all day, eat some yummy oatmeal and out in some lipstick every morning gets me going. As a Pilates instructor I’m eager to be able to work out in 2 weeks and dreaming of warmer weather to go outside for walks with her more. Happy Women’s Day to all you out there! You are all doing awesome.

Looking good mama! 💪🏼

I love your goals and how positive you seem. I am almost 6 weeks postpartum and breastfeeding and it’s going great, working on drinking more water. Ready to start working out again and getting back in shape. Just wish these hormones didn’t get the best of me the way they do. I’m really struggling with sensitivity

Drink that water girl! I notice a huge difference in my milk production on days I drink enough vs not drinking enough! As for sleep, get it when you can if baby allows, ask for help, it’s such a relief when someone can come over for a couple hours to let you cat nap! And trust me, someone will not mind getting to hold a sleepy newborn! See if a local hair salon will do cheap hair washes, even if you don’t get it dried, the ten minutes of head rubs helps you feel relaxed while also getting your hair clean if you feel like you don’t have time to do a full blown out shower that day! Being a hairdresser myself, I will always give a new momma a head rub that they deserve! That’s all I got for ya! But good luck!

My baby is 5 weeks now trying to adjust to my new life everything has change is hard not been able to sleep as I did before I'm trying to get out of the house more often(walks as much as I can) eating and drinking more as my baby will not sleep if I'm not swinging him to sleep but I have a long journey ahead of me so slowly I can see improvement 😊

Is this you after just two week?!!! You look great did u push ?

Great job! Those are awesome goals! My goals are very similar to yours. My youngest is 8mo's old and I'm 12 weeks pregnant so I understand! I am actually a health coach & I would absolutely love to talk with u more and see if there is anyway that I can help support you!

You look amazing btw ! I’ve been breast feeding which I love tbh, but I need to get my body back, it’s mostly because I got stretch marks that it looks so bad and I don’t think they’ll ever get any better :(

I’m 5 months postpartum and I feel amazing! Compared to last pregnancy and post birth, I felt crap for about a year! It makes being a mum so much more enjoyable now I’m on top of my game . I’m feeding also. Lots haha You look amazing.

im 2 weeks also and today i choose to start my work outs at home , i did 10 min to start today n i feel great i kant wait to see how im going to feel if i keep doing it everyday. i would love to have someone join me to go run i want to really transform my self . 🙏❤💪

I was told to wait 4-6 weeks to work out but I am DYING to start again! What did you do at home for 10 min? Might try it since I feel pretty good!

2 weeks in today as well! Same goals for the most part! I keep a water bottle by the bassinet and whenever I put him down, I chug it. Lol! Has been working pretty well - if I stick to that, I get 10-12 glasses of water a day. Sleep is the hardest for me - we put blackout curtains up that have helped me sleep better later in the day but no matter how little I get, sleeping past 12 is impossible. I’ve tried to schedule it that from 12-12 I sleep when the baby sleeps - and after that I clean, work (from home), and hang w the husband when the baby sleeps. Getting better at sticking to this lol!

Omg I’m 6 weeks postpartum, you’re lookin so good!

I have a 14-month-old and we are still breastfeeding which is quite a feat because she had the hardest time learning. I would love to support you on your journey of motherhood.
