No lie, those disposable adult diapers cause the hospital will release you with thick pads that go up your whoha (uncomfortable)....and I never knew hospitals can supply you with those stretchable girdle if you request one....(that way you start getting your stomach back into shape ASAP!!)

This is going to be long so I’m sorry in advance! Toothbrush Hairbrush Lots of hair ties Chapstick Facewipes (like makeup removing wipes or just some refreshing ones for if your labor is long!) Your own towel... hospital ones suck Warm socks with grippy bottoms OR slippers A change of clothes in case you stay a little longer. I wore the hospital gown for 3 says 😅 Going home clothes for you and baby! Snacks for you and your partner Your own disposable underwear. They’ll provide these but I brought my own! Pump if you have one! The LC will teach you how to use it. Nursing pillow if you have one Your own blanket PILLOWS. hospital pillows are the worst! A little bit of makeup. I wish I had brought some for pictures! I was a mess. Chargers Headphones This is all I can think of right now but Pinterest has some great lists! Definitely pack anything you feel you may need, even if it’s a lot of stuff!

Toilet paper! Bring your own toilet paper! Also, trash bags or reusable bags for your dirty clothes.

I second toilet paper!! I bought the good stuff specifically for the hospital and post birth.

Definitely need some underwear, some pajamas like gowns, toothbrush w/ toothpaste, a bonnet, lotion, I wish I would’ve packed a book to read! Ummm what else🤔? Oh, some slippers, socks, bra, comb, hairbrush, pads (because you will be bleeding), breast pads (just in case for breastfeeding), & deodorant.

Just in case you have a c section (which I did) a nightgown and a light cotton robe was the best thing to have. I bought them from target!

I didn’t have a C-section. Plus I will have vaginal birth with my second child. But yes I’ve packed a gown when I was pregnant with Alayah.

Nipple cream if you’re breast feeding or pumping and breast pads

Oh also, I took a suit case, instead of a “hospital bag”.

Girl we need all the things! Lol

Mine is like a huge bag. Might as well be a suit case, I have a large ass duffle bag, + my pump and gear and when I have my baby shower I’ll bring my diaper bag and car seat... so much to lug😂

Oh ya, if you have someone else coming with you, you can always leave some things in the car (like pillow, extra robe or blanket, etc) if you don’t know if you’ll reallllly want it in there yet or not. I’m going to bring my own pillow but leave it in the car until I decide how bad these ones are 🤣🤣 And I’m bringing my amazon fire stick so me and my husband have way more entertainment options

these were the things i used the most during and right after birth- adult diapers and numbing spray for your vag. i also got a portable mini fan in case i got hot

The hospital has everything you could need. The only things I used from my bag were a robe, flip flops and my own shampoo— just to feel a little better for visitors!! Even those I could have survived without! Sure there will be things you need for recovery when you get home but mommas, do not stress about having that bag perfectly packed by the front door! I feel like this is one of those things I want mommas to learn from my mistake —of over stressing and overpacking!!

Agree. Less is more. I brought bare essentials. Hospital has everything. Bring snacks!

I wish I would’ve brought snacks!! Hospital food sucks, and I almost starved to death lol.. I had a planned c-section for 2:00 pm, didn’t eat since midnight previous night, they were busy so I didn’t go back until almost 5:30.. by the time I was done puking & my temp got back up to normal and I was in my room it was about 9-10:00pm.. by then I was drained & didn’t want to eat! Plus.. hospital wasn’t serving anything anymore since it was past cafeteria hours.. went over 24 hours without eating.. wish I would’ve brought fruit snacks or something light to eat throughout my stay..

Socks, chap stick, comfy robe. Of course clothes for your bundle of joy .

Jolly ranchers! I wasnt allowed to eat, and had a long night/day of minimal labor before an emergency C.. so inwas only allowed ice chips and the jolly ranchers i brought. And our bose speaker- we listened to music with our son in the days after while we were still at the hosp.

That’s a good idea for when you can’t eat, bring like candy to suck on or mints!

Nipple cream! Also loose clothing (don't bother dressing nice) also bring Gatorade or your favorite drinks for after delivery and gum

I kept sending my husband to the vending machine with my first labor, so this time I packed candy and mints. As far as post partum recovery products, you can ask your hospital what they provide so you know what you’ll need. Good luck mama!

Also, after staying overnight for observation this week and giving my hospital bag a dry run—when I gave birth to my daughter I had my normal ankle socks on, and they kept slipping off my feet. This time I took some nice tall socks (Stance brand) and it’s was sooo much better. They’re the first thing I had my hubby take out of the bag for me. Pack good socks.

Going to be real honest with you, I went to a doctor's appointment and ended up being sent to the hospital so needless to say my bag was not with me and to be honest I haven't finished packing it. I had an amazing birth and I only use three things in the bag that I packed. And I packed a minimal bag to begin with. you end up using all of the underwear and toiletries they are, I took some throw away shampoo and conditioner a hair brush and some hair ties. I also took a couple of nursing bras and an outfit to leave the hospital with because the rest of the time I was either in a nightgown that I brought or the hospital gowns. The less you take the better because the last thing you're going to do or want to do once you get that baby in your arms is worry about the damn bag. Save yourself the stress and go less trust me 😊❤️

Boopy nursing pillow, extra pj’s for you (breastfeeding friendly) soft nursing bras or bralettes (I preferred the second stretchy and soft) Onecies that are open in the bottom where your baby’s legs are easily accessible. Babies get a lowjack at the hospital and putting any other type of pants one legged onecies it’s a pint over those big foot collars. Baby hat 🥰 they get one right after being born to help shape their head and the hospital ones are boring lol Slippers a robe for you a comfy outfit for you to go back home in. Granny panties too I liked the shorts kind. Quick make up cause you will want to look your best on all your baby visitor pics.

and nipple cream!!!!

Sorry so long!: The best thing we brought was the laptop, hdmi cable, and Bluetooth speaker. We hooked the laptop to the hospital tv & I just watch Netflix the whole time. I had a 47hr labor and we had to stay two days after. It was a god send! Also I second the chapstick. I bought a gownies hospital gown from Baby be mine and loooved it. It was comfortable and still had easy access for the nurses. I also got a lot of compliments on it which is great when you can barely walk lol. I also recommend bringing your own pillow for comfort reasons. Our hospital only allotted two pillows per person. I also had two outfits one to go home in and one to wear in the hospital. I finally changed out of my gown after day 3 so it was nice to put some fresh clothes on. And I still had a different outfit for the next day! Also when ordering clothes plan on being a bit swollen. My legs were still pretty swollen on day 4 and I could barely fit into my sweats that I bought to go home in lol

Eye mask and slippers or comfy socks!! Cozy robe, a pillow bc hospital pillows suck you don’t know how long you’re going to be in labor. Shampoo, conditioner, face wash, moisturizer, hair ties, hair brush, refillable water bottle like a swell bottle or yeti, CHAPSTICK, omg didn’t realize how much I needed it! Phone charger and iPad/tablet. Breastfeeding pillow (if you plan on it) and a nursing bra.

An extra long phone charger, and if your phone has a battery you can take out it would have been nice to have a back up for all the phone calls and pictures. A pillow or two, a light soft blanket for yourself, soap, shampoo, your own toothpaste, baby book.

Pajamas, slippers, towels and wash clothes, body wash, robe, extra money for real good after you are able to eat, the baby bag (that is a whole other list 🤣), phone charger and battery packs, comfy clothes when you leave, portable speaker for music.
