I honestly didn't take them most of the pregnancy. I had major nausea. You can take the gummies which are alot easier on your stomach, but they don't have iron
They seem to be bothered if you’re taking vitamin D but I’m not 100% sure - have a chat with your midwife see what she says
Pregnacare gave me awful headaches! I used Boots version and had no issues with them at all 😊
You can buy over the counter vitamins it’s just a hit or miss with them
Trial and error prenatals would be my recommendation
The most important things to take are folic acid and vitamin D. You can buy these in a single pill from the supermarket or chemists. Pregnacare didn’t agree with me either!
I only took mine until 12 weeks and then forgot
I take MamaBird. The omega one gives me fish burps, but I’m sort of okay as long as I eat before.
I got the bassetts gummy ones, way easier to manage! Pregnacare made me feel absolute gross
I take over the counter. I've been taking them my entire pregnancy. I vomit with them or without them. So it really doesn't matter. 35 + 5 wks along
I use Pregvit (prescribed) and honestly the morning one makes me nauseous so my doctor suggested I take it after eating, but the night one has given zero troubles!! It has Iron and Folic Acid. I took them religiously in the first trimester but second tri so far I’ve missed more than taken but thats just pregnancy brain 😂😂 If you are eating plenty and getting your nutrients, you should be okay without but its always recommended to take one :) So far we’ve got a healthy baby girl and you couldn’t tell I missed so many doses!
I had them and they made me violently sick!!
Hi, when I was pregnant before I gave birth I made sure to take vegan prenatal vitamins rather than any other ones I found them in Whole Foods and you can also take these after giving birth they have less of those aggravating Ingredients and also my hair and nails grew very fast 🥰
I had this exact issue with elevit. I changed brands and I don't have any issues anymore

Yuk🤢 gave me awful sickness cos of the aftertaste. I didn’t take them much in my first trimester but I take them every now and then now.
@Gurj yeah take them at night just before sleep.
Try taking them at night if you haven't. Mine will make me nauseated if I take them during the day or too late at night. Me and my husband fell asleep on the couch the other night and didn't wake up to go to bed until 3 am, I didn't realize it and took it. I threw up like 10 minutes later. If I take them when I go to bed at a normal time I'm fine.
Not all are created equal. Most of them are synthetic and can add to nausea during pregnancy. Look into beef liver capsules. Natures multivitamin
Try a different prenatal. Pregnacare was the same for me. I think i managed holland and barrats own the best of a bad lot. But i was sick all the way to 20 weeks then had about 2 weeks without then it came back towards end. I ended up just taking vit d and folic acid.
Ask your midwife for the NHS healthy start vitamins, really small and easy to take
Not all prenatals are the same. It took me a few months (while ttc) to find one that didn’t make me sick. I tried like 3 and settles for One A Day Advanced (2 pills). I can take them with it without food and they don’t make me sick. Hope this helps!
@Charlotte I’ll second this one. I literally take them as I’m getting into bed at night and no more nausea at all!
Everyone reacts differently, my 1st pregnancy vitamins made me feel sick etc so stopped taking them, didn't take them with my 2nd and now with my 3rd I've been taking them when I remember but this pregnancy has been completely different and I've had no sickness at all luckily
I took pregnacare original from the beginning of my pregnancy to about 5 months. I took pregnacare plus 5-7 months. I fell behind in taking supplements and didn't take anything other than iron tablets months 7-9. You must ensure you have a good healthy diet. Speak to your doctor / midwife about it.
I stopped taking mine was well and my baby's growing healthy and normal
I stopped taking pregnacare and folic acid at 12 weeks. Only taking aspirin to prevent preeclampsia😩 but I don’t take it everyday
I was the same and then read and was told you need to take them with a main meal. Once I started doing that I was absolutely fine taking them!
Floradex the tablet or liquid supplement🙏🏼🙏🏼worked wonders was never iron deficient and have folic acid in.
Try eating something before taking them, that’s the only way I don’t get sick

I took them Religiously after suffering from extreme tiredness, and it helped me alot. I have no problem swallowing any size medication. Maybe try eating before taking them and see if that helps get rid of your nausea
Thanks for reminding me take it today 😅 I take the loquid pregnacare and its been alright. However i dont take it daily as i am very forgetful...shouldnt matter much. Dont think our grandmas were taking them :))
Take them at night not in the morning
Our “grandmas” weren’t taking them because they ate much fresher and healthier than us in this day and age lol. If you are eating lots of homemade meals then you might not need them, if your diet is mainly takeaway and junk then yes you absolutely do need vitamins. That’s the difference with our “grandmas” lol
I started taking them but started with morning sickness all day and couldn’t keep them down… I was 8weeks when i completely stopped taking them because I was just throwing them up, my baby was healthy all the way through my pregnancy , just think years ago all these medications weren’t around and people still had healthy babies, don’t stress too much about taking them, you can do it down the line if you need to but honestly I didn’t take them again after the sickness went away and now I have a healthy baby at 3 days old 😊x
I’ve been taking the Bassetts pregnancy gummies because pregnecare started making my tum unhappy!! The gummies are so much easier on the tum for me
I took these too, take them before you go to bed and then you won't feel the nausea xx
Don’t forget it says to take them on a full stomach. If you’re not doing that they will make you sick.
@Tamana Tajáe I really struggled to digest Pregnacare, I was in so much pain from it. I switched to My Vitamins pregnancy gummies until 12 weeks and after that I've had Floradix liquid x
@Kellie didnt know any pregnant woman would live of fast food 🤯
@Christine pregnant women suffering from food aversions, sickness and nausea will likely live off whatever they can stomach until otherwise
My midwife advised that I brought a supermarket own brand pregnancy vitamins, so I switched to asda ones, cheaper and the nausea disappeared!
