Foothills Private room

Hi everyone, has anyone have recent experience of delivering in foothills? I am due in jan end and want to get a private room. Should we request in prior? Thanks

I was there 2 weeks ago and I asked and they said it’s only for C-section and if your having twins

I was told to wait and see if they would have any available on the day of delivery when I tried to pre book, on the day of delivery ( c-section) they said they didn’t have any.

For your delivery you will have a spacious private room that you can have 2 support members in, but for your postpartum recovery unfortunately you will have a room with another patient. I delivered last month at foothills and we were very happy with our delivery room but recovering in a tiny room with another patient and another crying baby was quite rough. We called in early and asked as well to request a private room and they told us that legally those rooms must be reserved for covid patients

I did not prebook but I did end up with a private postpartum room. You have to ask on the day of delivery and if one is available then you can get it.

@Jenna The private rooms aren't much better. I had one after my c section and it was like being in a closet, very small. I was in quarantine due to having non complete med records from the states.

Thanks for the information everyone. Looks like I will have to wait and watch. Did the hospital provide baby items like diapers wipes etc or do we need to carry in our hospital bag? @@Julie@@Kristyn@@Alyssa@@Eki@Jenna

@Roshni they provided some diapers but not Wipes. (I actually brought extra and needed them) They also gave us some Vaseline type stuff for diapers, they have formula if you don't breastfeed, and a pacifier if you choose to want one. Definitely bring clothes for baby, a blanket, a hat, mittens if you want to use them. If you breastfeed and need nipple shields, bring them. They will have a breastpump.

Thanks @Julie i am assigned foothills for my delivery by my gynac, Do i need to register with foothills before hand or do any paper work?

@Roshni not that I know of. I've only had one baby there in July and I'm not from here 😬. I had a foothills obgyn. I was set to be induced at 38w but ended up with an emergency c section at 37w. I signed a bunch of papers for induction a week ahead of time.
