People are saying my girls names sounds like boy names

My daughters are here , I named one of them Blair and one of them Blake , I personally thought both names was unisex and can go for a boy or a girl and I know famous females and males with both names. It makes me upset when they assume they are boys. Just wanted to vent. But am I the only one that think they can be for a boy and girl name ? There full names are Blair Rylee w. Blake Skylar w.

My wife is called Blake. Both names are definitely unisex. Unfortunately we're still in a world with gender stereotypes and that includes names

First of all, beautiful names! I think they’re both unisex. I also think people can just be janky sometimes because why give an unsolicited opinion/comment on someone else’s kids anyhow. Try not to let it stress you too much, people just like to project misery onto others.

If I had a girl I was going to name her Blair I think it’s beautiful

I think they are both lovely unisex names. I think the issue with unisex names is that people will default to the gender based on who they have met before. For example I would default to Blair being a girl and Blake being a boy because I have known male Blake’s but no female ones.

That’s so strange everyone’s minds work differently. I automatically thought of girls when I read Blair & Blake! Blake lively & Blair from gossip girl probably made me make that connection x

There unisex 100% Don’t listen to other people I have always been told my name (Charlie) was a boys name But I love unisex names I know girls called Teddy, Bobby,Murphy and Jordan I think there beautiful names Don’t let anyone talk you out of them xx

I love girl boy names 🤣🤣🤣. I almost named my daughter Charlie!!!!! I liked bobby at one point after my dad. but I loveeeee both of your names. I like Blake Skylar best!

Both beautiful. I’ve only ever know girls called Blair and as for Blake … surely Blake Lively is proof enough it’s unisex? I’ve not known a boy called Blake in fairness. Xx

Blair from gossip girl and Blake Lively are the only two people i’ve heard of with either of those names, and they’re both girls 🤷‍♀️

I think they are lovely names. I’m sure they suite them and their personality’s perfectly ❤️

I love them both!

People seem to have opinions of names based on how regularly they hear them as a boys, girls or neutral name. I've known male jodies and female Jordans that always get assumed to be the opposite gender. My name is always assumed as boys. More names than think can be neutral. And besides your child and yous as parents are the only ones whos opinion matters regarding name. Those people saying bad obviously aren't very happy in their life if they feel the need to say bad things about a name. The names are beautiful

They're beautiful neutral names in my opinion

Love them!

More and more Blake (or Blakely) seem to be used for girls and I’ve only ever heard of girls named Blair! I think they’re great names (:

It's funny because I actually know a pair of brothers called Blake and Blair.

I named my girl Devon and SHE gets HE ALL THE TIME

If it bothers you that people might assume they're boys, unisex names might not be the way to go.

I personally don’t give a S**t what people think I just correct them with a you mean she or the he is a she line
