ADAU / community midwives MK hospital/care
Anyone else or is it just me?
I'm 40+2 weeks pregnant with 2nd baby. Went in for a stretch and sweep Friday. Failed as cervix is too high 🫣 couldn't even reach it.
Midwife put in a form to the community midwives to do another sweep today.
I've heard nothing!! I called ADAU (as that's where I had my sweep on Friday) and they just fobbed me off "you have to call community midwives and leave a message someone will contact you". I told this person that the Midwife I saw on Friday said if the community midwives are at capacity and can't do it then ADAU will step in.
Didn't care, "no we don't do routine procedures"
Well you do because I had one Friday.
So basically ADAU were useless, the community midwives never reached out to me and my own Midwife hasn't replied to a single text or my voice mail all weekend!!
Feeling very frustrated and ignored! I don't want to put it off as being induced will scrap my home birth plans 😔😟
I found the communication between teams to be bloody shocking. I constantly had to advocate for myself because no one spoke to each other, despite there being countless notes. It’s annoying but keep on at the community midwife team. Tell them what Adau are saying. Also ultimately you do not have to be induced. It is your decision and you cannot be forced to be induced.
