I also have the machine and I’m planning on pre made formula for the hospital and using the kettle for the first few weeks of feeding as on average newborn baby’s drink 1.5-3 oz every 2-3 hours and as you know the machines lowest is 4oz which is slightly annoying. I agree with Hannah though no such thing as a stupid question we’ve all got a million and one things we’re trying to learn as moms!😂 most formulas are 1 scoop per oz but it will have a guide on the back for you to follow
I honestly havent got a clue about how many scoops make up how many oz, just been told not to pack in each scoop but a few friends who love these machines said at the start just make a 4oz and divide it into 2 bottles, one for straight away and one for 2-3 hours time but no longer and just give to baby cold so they are not always wanting a warm bottle, which is far easier when out and about. This is all advive, im a ftm who hasnt a clue!!
Not a silly question at all I’m not 100% sure on the answer but Would think how many scoops depend on the instructions on the back of your formula as that may differ brand to brand ?
No a silly question at all. Yes in the uk it’s 1 scoop of powder per oz of water so 4oz-4 scoops. A new born will probably only in about 2oz at a time (but all babies are different). we used the ready made stuff for a few weeks then just made the 4oz bottle then discarded what’s left. It doesn’t talk long until they are on 4oz. Xx
1 scoop = 1oz. The prep machine minimum is 4oz so when my first was a newborn we just made 4oz bottles, he didn’t finish them but just did it for ease really 😂 loved my prep machine xx
I can see the oz-scoop part had been answered so I won’t comment on that! But what you could do with the prep machine is make a 4oz then split it into 2 bottles of 2oz each and keep one in the fridge for the following feed, or if baby is on 3oz you could do the same with a 6oz feed. Cheaper then readymade!
I’ve decided there’s no such thing as a stupid question seeing as I seem to have about 100 new ones everyday 😂 I also have this machine but haven’t had a play yet. Someone advised me that when baby is newborn they won’t be drinking 4oz which is the minimum so they bought the ready made bottles till baby was big enough. In terms of 4oz being 4 scoops - I have no clue sorry 😅 sounds logical that one scoop is one oz, but baby won’t be drinking that much to start with (apparently)
