Female OB?

Hello! We just moved to Oshawa so I’m looking for an OB, preferrably female. Any recommendations? I’ve also tried midwife clinics but they cannot accommodate me anymore. They are fully booked for my due date. I used to have a midwife when we were in Hamilton but had to let her go because we moved.

Dr. Amting, Dr. Leung, Dr. Youash are all great! Out of Whitby Womens clinic. Delivery through Oshawa Hospital

I've also seen great reviews about Dr. Elizabeth Jana.

@Jordan Thank you! I called Dr. Leung’s clinic but was told she is going on leave so not taking any new patients. I will try Dr. Amting or Dr. Youash. How was your experience with them?

@Karla I had a wonderful experience with both of them. I had Dr Youash when Dr Amting was on leave. She is young but lovely. She had to deliver very unfortunate news to me and was very compassionate and kind. Dr Amting is amazing, can’t say enough good about her. I was very anxious in my pregnancy and she accommodated same with extra appointments, extra ultra sounds and was just delivered trauma informed care perfectly. She didn’t deliver my baby but all the care leading up to was thorough and perfect!

Any at the Whitby mall honestly. Amting, Yuash, Leung, I had Murnaghan but she’s on leave and had had apts and hospital visits with all the above ahaha they all work super close and soooo good as a clinic and all work at the Oshawa Hospital so your chances of having one of them are higher and they were all LOVELY

I was with the midwives and had to have a c section. Dr. Mutungi was the OB who did it. She was amazing. I can’t say enough good things about here. Even though I wasn’t originally with her she followed up with me post c section and then I had a female issue unrelated to my birth and I called her office on a Tuesday and she saw me on that Thursday. Amazing!

Seconding the OBs at the Whitby Women’s clinic! All the staff there are wonderful and I’ve seen most there during my pregnancies. Could not recommend them more.

Not sure if she’s accepting new patients for your due date but I would highly recommend Dr. Nazia Tauseef at the Courtice Health Centre who has privileges at Lakeridge Oshawa. Her receptionist seems a bit stressed always (busy practice I think) but the doctor has never once made me feel rushed when I’m in the office with her. Always takes her time to answer my usual (many questions) and is very thorough. For example, I ended up getting my 20 week ultrasound 3x to get clear pictures of the heart and diaphragm - she wasn’t fine with signing off on it until we got what we needed to know that everything was fine. Couldn’t recommend her enough and hope she is the OB on call when I deliver in May. :)

@Lydia I also wanted Dr. Tauseef as I’ve read good reviews about her but her receptionist told me she can’t accept anymore patients with a June due date 🙁
