Growth chart - explained

This is my little ones first plot today- it’s the tiny black dot on the black/blue line. The midwife didn’t seem concerned at all but can someone explain what it means and on what line she’s on? Thankyou ❤️

I’m not sure, sorry, but I love your dachsies photo with baby! ❤️❤️

Think it means you’re measuring in the 10th percentile. So out of 100 other people 10 of them would measure less than you. Think midwife would only be concerned if it was on the red line but I’d ask your midwife just to be sure x

I think with the fundal height it’s not super accurate to show baby’s size. Because all women have different size bumps. Eg you’re in the 10th percentile but your baby could actually be in the 50th for size. Since it was your first measurement, I think your midwife would refer you for a growth scan if she was worried as they’re more accurate (still not 100%)

@Melissa she’s just rung to book me in for my scan tomorrow 😂 I had a feeling she would! Thanks for getting back to me xx

@Jenny she’s just rung me to book me in for a scan tomorrow as it’s more 9th so just wants to double check. Thanks for replying x

Hope all goes well! I’m measuring 50th percentile so bang on for fundal but at my 20 week scan was told bub is too big so got to go for another scan at 36 weeks so I wouldn’t worry everyone is different xx

@Gabby awhhhh long haired too 😍😍😍😍 soooo cute!!!
