After care

I am just over 3 weeks since having an emergency c-section. I wasn't really given much information on after care. I was told not to do anything for 6 weeks and to wash my scar by running warm water over it in the shower and to pat dry, that is all. The area where my scar is is u dee the flap of my belly as it shrinks after pregnancy and it gets super warm and sweaty, I don't want to over wash but I also don't want an infection. I checked my scar today using a mirror and I noticed 2 holes in my scar where it looks like the wound hasn't knitted together so now I am even more concerned about infection. My scar itself isn't red or I flamed but my tummy is tender and itchy. Anyone been given more detailed aftercare that they can share? Thanks

keep it dry! i always put a panty liner over min to keep it from rubbing against anything, it would also catch any ozzing from the incision or sweat and when you shower let the water run down youre chest but also use anti bacterial soap and let it run over it as well dont touch the rag to the incision.. and take it easy, dont overdo it.. listen to youre body! im 4 weeks pp and my scar os completely closed and looks amazing from me doing exactly what i told you. you got this momma!

I had 3 holes in my scar after going minor injuries to get it checked because my scar was red and oozing . They put inadine patches on there as well as plasters. Then I had weekly66 checkups and dressing changes. Just before Christmas they said that it had all cleared up but I noticed on christmas day a little bit of blood on the gauze from the hole that hadn't healed. Went back the next day or so they said it was fine. I then had my 8 week checkup and straight away the doc looked at it then put me on antibiotics for a week, finally nearly 4 months after the c section the last hole as healed up

I was given alcohol pads and gauze to put over my scar (so my underwear wouldn’t bother my scar) around 2 weeks pp, but since you’ve seen 2 holes I would probably double check with your dr!
