Is this a rash? Chicken pox? Bacterial infection?

I went to the doctor and she told me that he may have chickenpox or he may have a bacterial infection . He is prone to eczema and he recently had a cold (stuffy nose, cough) 3 days ago he lost his appetite (very unusual for him, although he is a picky eater he is always snacking). His eczema has flared the past couple weeks - but it has never been in his face. His scalp is also itchy too. What is going on?!?!?!

Does he have any on his hands or feet? Could be hand foot mouth disease.

If it is only on his face, it’s not chickenpox. The tiny white pus centers does resemble why she would call it chickenpox. But chickenpox is a viral infection so it would be other areas as well. Any new soap? I would put cortisone on it and watch it for a couple days. Even calamine lotion but don’t get it right by the mouth.

It was a bacterial infection

It took a while to respond to the topical medication but he did respond to it. I was surprized!!

Glad to hear he's on the mend!
