C-Section at jessops

Had a pretty rough day of induction yesterday, the doctors had to stop it due to heavy bleeding, and was decided c-section today/ tomorrow is the best route. Has anyone recently/ over the past few months had a c-section at jessops and tell me about visiting/ if partners can stay over?? And also how long you stayed in for after birth? I’m 37+2 with pre eclampsia!

I had an emergency section in December. Everyone in the theatre was lovely (going off what my partner said I was pretty out of it). Visiting hours finish at 8, the midwife’s didn’t rush him out but they said he did need to leave at some point, he left around 9ish. It was hard work that night, I didn’t sleep at all. Try get as much help breastfeeding as you can if that’s what you’re planning to do. I didn’t get much help because the lady next to me wasn’t having a worse time then me and I think that’s why it didn’t work out for us in the end. I got to go home the day after, which felt very rushed but I was glad to go home so I could try sleep at home at least. Just make sure if you need help to buzz for it and keep buzzing, don’t take their word for it that they will come back to help you. It was very busy when I was in their and I hardly saw any midwife’s for help 😟 x

Just advocate for yourself as much as you can, I didn’t and I think that’s why I had a bad experience xx

I had an emergency c seduction in December and after I was put in my own room. Both me and baby were poorly so the left my partner stay the whole time was in hospital after (4days) so long as he didn’t go out of the room after 8pm. I had my own toilet and bath/shower in the room so it wasn’t an issue. The midwives and nurses up the ward after were really good to us and so supportive. Just be on your buzzer especially on a night time if you’ve got pain. It took ages for me to get anything on a night time but they said they were short staffed (understandable) but just keep asking xx

No my partner coudlnt stay over night 😔

I had a c section at the beginning of feb… everything actually went really well and straight forward. Made me feel at ease and my partner too. The only issue is your partner cannot stay over night 😕 they can be there for the visiting times of 8am-8pm. I was on the ward but I guess if you are given a room it may be a different story. Hope everything goes well for you and your little one x

How many visitors were allowed at a time between 8-8 if any of you ladies remember? Thankyou for your help! Xx

@Lauren I never asked I just let people come see me whenever. The ladies opposite and next to me had about 4/5 at one time xx

It’s so sad to read your partners can’t stay overnight, my husband stayed 3 nights with me at Chesterfield royal after my failed induction and emergency C section, i couldn’t have coped that first night without him.

I had emergency section at start of feb the care is really good but once you’re on the ward can only have visitor partner there 8-8 they said only allowed two visitor at a time but they aren’t very strict with it aslong as you don’t take the piss the staff are really nice but not enough of them so make sure you ask for everything while you have them! Xxx

Also only thing was I got to the ward around 6 and my partner had to leave at 8 and I was still paralysed and quite out of it what isn’t good but if you get a private room they can stay it’s only on the ward

I had a emergency c section as I had pre eclampsia. I had my little one at 20:50pm and my partner was back home by 23:00. Awful experience. I don't understand why they aren't allowed for at least the first night. Hope your experience is better than mine xx
