C Sections

Can any one recommend anything that could help ease pain? And any tips or tricks to being able to walk properly or even more than a few feet in front of myself?

When did you have the c section ? X

@Nicole Wednesday it was an emergency one if that helps? X

I’ve got 800mg ibuprofen, diacodein, antibiotics and told to take paracetamol too. Have these not been prescribed? Also, I was up straight away, wondering around the ward soon as I could move, and I’ve been moving probably more than Drs would like me too. I had my section 5pm 23rd feb. Pain killers are the one, sexy stocking socks do help, and so does making sure I’ve rested my back. I’ve found my actual cut doesn’t hurt, but I’ve had a PICO dressing on cause I’m over weights which may have helped x

@Chelsea-Paige, i was literally about to put what Jessica said. Make sure you space the meds out i did diacodeine, para then ibru, but the first day or two once i was home i took them all together. and wear your stockings i didn't and my legs swelled. Just make sure you get up to move. If you stay in one place for too long your in more pain. It does go away for not till about day 4-5 to am ache. I had an emergency with my 1st and it was 5 days before i could move properly, the the 2nd c section next day i was up but i was still in pain. It's just cuz they've move you around inside so its more of a trauma. It will go away X

Thank you girls, I’ve also had to have a blood transfusion and the midwife’s and nurses at the hospital some aren’t the best. Thank you for all the advice x

Don’t rush your recovery! I had c section a week ago today and today is the first time I feel like I can attempt to walk a bit easier and go outside literally to the post box. I had my bandage off a couple of days ago and it feels really tender and restricts my movement. This is my second c section and it’s important not to push yourself too hard and give yourself time to recover properly xx

It’s really only to go and pee as our bathrooms down stairs and I’m worried what it’ll be like when I finally get home x

Our bathroom is downstairs also and I was worried about this too! Was contemplating making a makeshift baby bedroom downstairs and me husband and baby sleeping down there but thankfully it didn’t come to that. The pain walking up and down stairs wasn’t as bad as I expected. I just hold my abdominal area as I walk up and down and around the house. I’m allergic to ibuprofen so I was given paracetamol and either tramadol or oromorphe. When I got home I didn’t bother using the stronger stuff and felt like I could manage the pain on paracetamol.

Thank you so much! X

I had mine last week Friday and had some issues after so wasn’t properly moving until Tuesday I’d say, I think just do what your body feels it’s capable of, don’t do too much even if you feel okay because you’re still healing inside! Take it easy and concentrate on you and baby 😊

Thank you girls! X

I had a section on a Tuesday and found wed night / Thursday were by far the worst I stayed in bed Thursday (at home) and really rested that day Took 2 paracetamol and 2 ibuprofen every 6 hours Hopefully you'll start to feel better soon x

I had an emergency c section. The pain was horrendous for about a week but I promise it gets better. I'm 3 weeks healing and taking no pain killers and moving freely! X
