RUMC or SIU Birth Experiences

Hi everyone! I wanted to ask how was everyone’s experiences with giving birth in either RUMC or Staten Island University Hospital from the delivery room to the recovery room. I have given birth in RUMC before and loved my experience there back in 2017, but my doctor now is affiliated with SIU and I don’t wanna switch doctor’s. But I’m nervous because, I’ve always heard of momma’s giving birth in RUMC and never SIU

I had my last 2 at RUMC. 2010 & 2022... No complaints.

I gave birth at siuh and I had got induced so I was there for almost 2 days prior to giving birth. My doctor and all of the nurses on the floor where absolutely amazing and super attentive! As for the after care once you have the baby and are moved to the other floor, not the greatest unfortunately! Only there for 24hours so could deal.

I had a c section @ SIUH north and had a great experience. I was in the hospital for 2.5 weeks beforehand and both teams in L&D and the maternity wing were awesome.. I was going a little stir crazy for having to be there for so long but otherwise had a great experience

Both at SIUH north because that was my Drs hospital and would’ve preferred RUMC. I requested private room but is first come first serve even though u pay extra anyway and since it was taken I had to share a room which I didn’t like at all.

i had a vaginal birth at RUMC. all the nurses were phenomenal & the resident OBGYN who assisted my provider was so great!! i got a private room for $300 additional a night and it was worth every penny. rumc also has a good nicu which my baby needed to be in due to complications with my labor so all around it was a really good experience
