Wheezy & congested baby’s after c section..

Anyone else’s little one sound congested and abit wheezy? I have spoken with my midwife and health visitor they don’t seem worried they said it’s normal after a c section but I’m wondering if it’s the formula (cow&gate) or prep machine making it worse 🤷🏼‍♀️ any advice would be great as hare hearing bubba so congested!

My baby was like this when he was first born, he’s 5 1/2 weeks now. HV & midwife said the same thing. He doesn’t sound like it most of the time now. I do a combination of bottle and breastfeeding I can 100% say he sounds like this again when he drinks his bottle too fast! I think maybe he gulps and some goes down his wind pipe instead of to his tummy. His bottles are breast milk so I don’t know if formula makes a difference. Maybe try teat with lower flow rate if possible?

My little one was like this for about 12 weeks after the C-section. Apparently it’s because when you push the baby out they’re kind of squeezed through and all the mucus comes out whereas via C-section they’re not so it takes a while to clear. Hope your little one gets better soon

Mine was like this too i used a saline nose spray x

Mine has it for quite long too but I was always unsure if the cold temp made it last longer. We found a humidifier really helped. 😊

My baby is still like this almost 11 weeks

My little one was born via c section and was like this for a while. 11 months later I can't remember a time where she hadn't had a snotty noseb

Its completely normal for C section babied to be congested and mucusy for a while and its because they didnt get squished through the birth canal. Dont worry it will improve on its own.

My baby is 12 days old and sometimes he still tries to spit out mucus from his mouth. The HV and midwife weren’t concerned at all and said it’s normal for babies born via c section to have mucus

As others have said, my baby was like this! She’s now 14 weeks and it’s massively improved! You can use saline spray as that’s what I was doing to help ☺️

How old is baby? We were told cow and gate is worst formula for reflux and congestion, which is why the cow and gate reflux formula is SO popular (crazy, I know!!). We were advised to change to HIPP Organic (or Kendamil) My baby is still nasally and congested now (9 weeks). Some doctors have said it’s normal whereas others have told me it could be CMPA. He’s been on all sorts of medication and I really don’t want to keep changing and trying stuff, bless him, so I’m sticking with it for now, rather than heading down the CMPA route

@Amy I’m so pleased you’ve shared this! We’re nearly 10 weeks PP and a doctor told me “It can’t still be from the C-section” but didn’t really offer any other help! Thanks so much x

@Emma it’s okay. The only thing that really helped him was tilting his next to me crib for when he slept&when we fed him we would keep him upright as much as we could. During the night it’s harder as your shattered but his bed was tilted so we didn’t mind as much
