We’re pretty much down to toast and scrambled egg at the moment so hopefully there’s tips for both of us! Here to say you’re not alone!

Make eating an activity! One easy recipe I like is "yogurt bark " super adaptable to any kind of dietary restrictions AND sometimes I have to use fun vocabulary to trick my kids into things lol so if you don't think yogurt bark is a fun enough name for it, you could just call it "dessert "or even "edible slime". I like to use different colored sprinkles and things like that different cut up fruits and I put them all out in different bowls and let my kid use the yogurt to paint it on a baking tray (silicone, baking trays, are a godsend, use one of those if you have it, if not, make sure the line with parchment or wax paper). You can look up different yogurt park recipes and just make a fun activity out of it for them. I mean if you wanted to you could even break out paint brushes and literally make them think it's just a fun painting activity. Sky is the limit with the creativity there. My kid just likes being able to help "Cook "the desert lol and sprinkles are always a hit!

You can even try adding a little bit of Jell-O or gelatin. Mix to make it thicker slime consistency. I'm sure there's also vegan and vegetarian options for all of that as well. Plant-based yogurt work fine!

It might also be a good idea to bring it up with your child's doctor, because sometimes food aversions can be a sign of sensory and input disorders. It doesn't necessarily change anything about your child other than how you present things to them, and it might open up doors to additional resources or ideas to give you a hand with the overall situation ❤️ I would Google different ideas on "food play" and sometimes more specifically "food play for picky eaters", you might find the same information over and over by different ideas and games on what to do with the food & your kids

This one even has a DIY for an actual potato, Mr. potato head https://www.feedingplus.com/blog/food-play-ideas-for-picky-eaters

could have wrote this myself 🙄. worries me so much. end up just giving him snacks in the end to help him along. been few days now being up and down. wondering if got a molar coming through as super restless at night too 🙈. xx

I'm so glad we're not alone. My son has always eaten so well and since about a month ago he got really fussy and over the last week just refuses everything he loved except chocolate and crisps and that kind of thing! It's so hard and I worry he isn't eating enough. Let's hope this phase passes quickly! Xx
