Virginia speeding ticket

I was driving up to OHio from Florida and I got stopped in Virginia for so called speeding. State trooper said I was doing 91 and the speed limit was 70 on the highway. This is classified as a class 1 misdemeanor which is 12 months in jail with a $2500 fine. I have State Farm that tracks every trip and let’s me know when I speed and what’s the speed I was doing. So I checked in the app there was no indication of me speeding at all. I’m still scared has anyone delt with reckless driving charge in Virginia?

They carry the burden of proof.

You can also ask to see the footage as well proving you were speeding. If they can't provide either things stated by Julia or me, then they have no case.

I’m not too familiar with Bland but it’s a real small town and it’s in the worst part of VA 🥴 I’d definitely be sure to get a lawyer because in that area they will try to give you the max punishment . It does suck and that’s why I moved . Commonwealth states are the worst 😩

@Julia I’m definitely going to try that and consult with a lawyer I’m going to have my trip record, my driving record which is clean and ask about the calibration. There was a car next to me going faster than me. I’m def fighting this one for sure.
