Relocating

Hi everyone! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Me, my partner, our nearly 1.5 yo and our cat will be all moving from Scotland to Hertfordshire area probably late May due to work. I’m on the lookout for the apartment and what I’ve noticed is most of the flats have electric heaters and just wondering is it common in England or in the area? How it’s with the cost of it during the winter etc? Ngl I’m a bit worried for when the winter comes (aye a bit ahead of the time but I’d rather prevent being cold 🥶). All advice on best places to live and what to avoid will be much appreciated! We’re looking at WGC, Stevenage, Hertford and surroundings. X

Personally having lived in a few places with storage heaters when renting I vowed we would never buy somewhere that had them. We have gas central heating. All the storage heaters we ever had were rubbish and didn’t heat a room and cost an absolute fortune! In one flat we had a bill of £500 for one month!
