Restless Baby

It’s been a couple of weeks since my almost 6w baby can’t sleep good at night cause she’s super fussy. Usually she’s ok during the day and sleeps for a couple of hours at a time (Except for today 😩)She never cries fully but you can tell she’s struggling. She would fart when she’s pushing hard but no poop all night until maybe 9am. Her poop would be normal not hard at all. I’ve tried day and night time gripe water, burping her every feeding, massage on her belly, those tubes for passing gas from Frida Baby, Gaia drops (this week I couldn’t find the tiny tube so didn’t give her any), we switched formula 4 time’s already cause I noticed more spit up with the other brands so we’re doing Similac sensitive. Her diet is 80% formula 20% breast milk. What drops work better for that kind of issues? Any advice is welcomed.

And Oh! She also might have a lot of reflux! What I do with baby is try to sit her upright while feeding at night, and give her a break every ounce or so during feeding. Usually I will rub her back in between ounces and she will burp and then I continue to feed her the bottle. Hopefully all this helps!🥹💗

@Jade thank you so much!! I wasn’t aware there was liquid formula besides the newborn mini bottles. I’m gonna give it a try since that one seems to be a lot less harsh for her than the Enfamil and Kendamil. Thankfully she still poops but the past few days she only does it during the day while struggling a lot at night ☹️

Every since the liquid formula switch and sticking with it, she’s been less fussy and has had regular bowel movements and gas ever since! Every baby is different, and it hurts to see the little ones in discomfort🥺. I would recommend trying a Sensitive Liquid Formula (aside from the powder—Ik you mentioned Similac Sensitive above). You can give a pediatrician/doctor a call to see what they would suggest as well. I hope everything improves with baby🥹🥹💗

Hi Mama! I hope you, baby, and family are doing well!🤍 I have a 2 month old baby girl (first time mommy as well). She was fussy and had similar issues when we switched her from the hospital Similac ready-to-feed liquid bottles to the Similac Powder (opti grow). The powder switch made her constipated and she would scream when she would try a bowel movement or gas. Our pediatrician told us that it’s okay if she doesn’t have a bowel movement everyday, but if she goes two days without one to give a call. They recommend doing bicycles with her legs and massaging her tummy in a clockwise motion. They also recommended to use a cotton ball to massage the rectum area to stimulate a movement. They noted they would recommend a little bit of water with prune juice if she went more the 2 days without a bowel movement. What worked for our little princess was switching to the Similac Sensitive Liquid formula. We stayed consistent with that even though she showed discomfort at the first few days.
