Looking for a pediatrician

So I found out from one of my cousins if I had found a pediatrician for my baby girl. I go in for induction tomorrow. This is my first time trying to find a good pediatrician and I’m not sure if the hospital give out a list of pediatricians or it has to be from my doctor’s office where I was having my prenatal appointments. Do I get a good pediatrician from the doctor’s office or it will be from the hospital?

Texas children’s has a ton of locations and their pediatricians tend to be amazing! Plus they take pretty much every insurance

Your doctor’s office should have a list but you will also want to make sure your insurance is accepted and they are accepting new patients. If there is a community FB page where you live you can post there and ask for recommendations also. Before you leave the hospital you will want to have your pediatrician identified because you’ll have a follow-up appt with them shortly after you get home. Some pediatricians' schedules will vary slightly, but the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends babies get checkups at birth, 3 to 5 days after birth and then at 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 months.

Should search online on your insurance carriers website for a provider. I would do that ASAP because only certain doctors are accepting new patients especially newborns. Can take a while to find a good one and they need to be seen a couple days after birth.
