My sons doctor said at his one year check up that he could have as much cows milk as he wants. As long as he’s still eating his food and getting his nutrients. I’m in the US
Everything I read + what our dietitian said is limit to 16-24oz. The range depends on if they eat other dairy sources. If they eat a ton of other dairy, they don't need much. My daughter drinks 16oz a day and eats a small amount of other dairy. I'm a pediatric nurse as well, and many kids drink way too much milk. We occasionally see it in hospital. It interferes with iron absorption (if of concern for you) and also fills them up so they don't eat other needed nutrients. If you feel your kid is drinking way more/less maybe ask to see the dietitian?
My baby is still weaning off of breastmilk. So he gets about 6 oz of BM, and then 12-16 oz of cow milk in a day. Total milk amounts to 20-22 oz of milk a day. I think the reco is no more than 24 oz a day of any sort of milk at this age but also every baby is different.
