Milk duct on areola

Is it normal to have milk leaking from a bump on the areola? It's about 1cm from my nipple!

Totally normal. You can search Montgomery glands.

Do you feel comfortable sharing a picture? You could also send it as a private message to myself or any of the admins. There could be a few things causing this but the first that comes to mind is maybe a Montgomery gland leaking? Is it sore or painful? Is it leaking continuously or only during letdown or when you are full/engorged? What color is the milk coming from it?

Only leaks during the letdown I think and milk looks same colour as what is coming out of the nipple. I only noticed it because I was hand expressing a few drops at the end of a feed to put on my nipple because I'd read that is good for moisure/healing as opposed to nipple cream and saw that milk was coming out of there!

Can you express milk from this bump? Have you always had this bump or is it new?

If I'm hand expressing at the end of a feed for e.g. then milk will come out of there too. I just started feeding my newborn (she's 5 weeks) and I don't remember ever seeing it when I breastfed my older child a couple of years ago.
