Self perineal massage

Hi ladies, Wondering if anyone has been shown by a women’s physiotherapist or knows a really good place to get help online on how to do perineal massage by yourself? We saw a Physio last week and partner agreed to do it, but hasn’t and keeps putting it off despite knowing it will help me during labour to not tear. Pretty disappointed to be honest and I’m giving up asking him to help. Now after info on how to do it myself.

I found some good tutorials on youtube to do it myself good luck!!

Hey, a few other people posted about this earlier and people provided good online resources to help. I actually can’t reach to do it properly so I won’t be doing it because my partner wasn’t keen. My women’s Physio said it’s more so you know the feeling of stretching the area. Yes it can help but it’s not actually necessary.

Thanks ladies, appreciate it. Turns out I jumped the gun a little. I think he sensed this morning how disappointed I was that he wouldn’t help, and he has started today. 😏 After speaking to my Physio last week I’m low risk for a 3rd/4th degree tear, but I have keloid skin so the risks of having keloid scarring if I tear at all is very high (which will complicate any future deliveries) so want to do everything I can to try prevent a tear as much as possible. That’s the main reason I want to do it.

Glad to hear that he’s picking up some slack now. My partner and I have dropped the ball a bit the last few days I have to admit
