Has anyone tried Wellbutrin?

As an antidepressant. What was your experience? Did it make you happy and provide energy? Thanks ladies

I am currently taking Wellbutrin for PPA and PPD it seems to have made a difference with my anxiety less intrusive thoughts over all better mood. Wouldn’t say it’s made me “happy” and hasn’t given me more energy. I’ve read you need a really high dose for the energy. I have also taken Wellbutrin in the past. What I like most about it is the lack of side effects that often accompany antidepressants Hope this helps 🥰

@Michelle thanks for your reply. Can I ask, what dosage you're on? And what are intrusive thoughts? Also, does it have to be slowly weaned off of it to stop it or can you just abruptly stop taking it if you decide you don't want it anymore? I'm contemplating getting on it but I'm also scared of it. I don't want to be in any sort of brain fog or numb.

I’m currently taking 300mg but I started at 150mg for two weeks then moved up. Yes you should also wean off over two weeks so not long if you choose to stop. I have never experienced brain fog on Wellbutrin. Intrusive thoughts are thoughts that won’t go away and are usually very negative or fear based an example might be a fear of germs. And you think about it all the time until it starts affecting your life. Another example is fear of hurting your baby and the fear causes so much anxiety it makes it hard to function or get through your day. Really it could be anything that keeps coming into your head over and over creating anxiety and impacts your day to day life. Everyone gets them at some point. It’s when you can not control it or function that it becomes a problem. Your doctor should be able to help you better understand this medication and help you make an informed decision about whether or not it is right for you.
