I experienced this with my second child and it was around the same time as your baby but immediately following she begin gaining weight. She didn't like all of a sudden get bigger but I definitely noticed the weight gain the following wk.
Normal!
It’s completely normal. In your womb they are getting a constant flow of food. Once in the real world they need to adjust to working for it. Mine didn’t get back to birth weight until 6 week old. If breastfeeding it can take 6-8 weeks to come in. Not sure how quick weight will come on if formula fed but I’d imagine it still takes a lot of adjusting. Their little stomachs are so small to they can only take little and often so takes a while
It’s totally normal for newborns to lose weight in the first week, don’t worry you’re doing a great job!
@tanisha I’m gonna start watching him like a hawk then lol
It’s so normal. If they aren’t worried you don’t need to be. If baby is producing enough diapers it’s all good. It’s a little weird right at first
It is normal for newborns to lose up to 10% of weight in the first days
After you give birth your child will lose some weight. It’s completely normal.
I wasn’t making enough milk, seeing a lactation consultant helped but every time I tried to wean off the formula supplement he stopped gaining weight. Highly recommended getting baby weighed at least weekly until you’re sure feeding is going well and he’s gaining well. It was so stressful having to wonder if he was getting enough, especially when we found out after way too long that he really wasn’t
Very normal for babies to lose up to 10% of their birthweight in the first week
It took about 2 weeks for mine to regain weight after she was born, she lost about 8% of her birth weight but soon started packing the weight back on. I’m sure you’re doing a great job and congratulations!
It's what happens to all babies. Your baby is weird if it does not lose weight in the first week.
I didn't notice her weight gain till 7 weeks she's almost two months now
