Baby rubbing their head back and forth in arm when falling asleep

Does anybodies baby rub their head back and forth in their arms when falling asleep? Are they getting comfortable? Is this active sleep? Any insight is helpful!

Both my daughter and now my son have done this! Poor things got their bald spots on the back of their heads from doing it. I can see the little baby hairs on the bassinet sheet 😆 mine both did it at all different times during their sleep, and most recently my son has also started lifting his legs up and kicking them down while he’s sleeping too. I remember my daughter doing it too. I think it’s just them getting more mobile and they’re trying to sooth themselves

Ha I thought my baby was the weird one I thought it was just her being tired

This eyeeeees …. He won’t stop rubbing his eyes when he’s falling asleep!! It’s so annoying and wakes himself up😭

Yes! Mine seems to do this when he’s trying to fall back asleep. So if I feed him and put him down he’ll often shake his head from side to side until he falls back asleep

I believe this is them figuring out soothing techniques. My little guy started pulling at his ear and rubbing the back of his head when he’s feeling sleepy.
