St Mary’s in Manchester - visiting hours

Hi ladies Has anyone given birth in St Marys in Manchester recently? I have a planned c section this Friday and I’m wondering how long my husband can stay? I had my first at Wythenshawe and he was able to stay until 10pm, wondering if it’s the same here :) Thanks!

When I gave birth in October it was 8am-10pm but not sure if it’s the same or not. Good luck xx

I gave birth there in March and my partner was allowed to stay as long as he wanted, they even made a bed for him to stay which was lovely! The visiting hours when I was there was between 8am-10pm however children can only visit between 3pm-6pm. This hospital was absolutely amazing and took such great care of me and my baby

i work at st mary’s! on the wards it’s 8am-10pm but when you’re in recovery he can stay the whole time. if you’re in a private side room they can stay overnight.

@Abby how can we get a private room? I was checking in internet but I couldn’t find anything

@Gabriella @Louise you cant book one in advance. they are usually saved for ladies who’s babies are in NICU, who have mental health care plans, or who have contagious illnesses. it’s just luck if one is available tbh. you can request one from your midwife but it’s not guaranteed. i had a private room after birth because of my mental health care plan but they would have moved me if someone else needed it more.
