i had the same issue but then my mil asked around at her job and one of her coworkers recommended Bella B conditioner!! It worked so well for me. My son has super bad eczema so the pediatrician thought it was moving onto the scalp but it wasnt. We tried this conditioner and immediately saw how in 2 days his scalp looked less irritated! we didn’t shampoo his hair only conditioned it, and after conditioner we didn’t fully rinse it out so we just let the remainder sit on his scalp and in 2 weeks it was gone. however i didnt lightly comb the little flakes out and do scalp massages often.
Coconut oil. A few times every day. Massage the scalp and use five comb to remove whatever is falling. Avoid often washing of the head. Good luck
@Victoria 🧿 pediatrician told me the same thing. My sons was getting worse and smelled terrible so I was worried that he had an infection so we went to urgent care (Ped was closed for the weekend). It wasn’t infected but they told us we could put oil on his head the night before to loosen it up and the next day to comb some of the flakes off. Not aggressively but lightly comb off. After we washed his head everyday with mustela and did the oil thing it was gone by like the 3rd day. He did (eventually, not right then and there) lose his hair but I think that was going to happen anyway 🤷🏽♀️ it’s all back now.
Are you bathing him too often?
I use Frida baby oh crap cradle cap and it’s worked wonders for me.
and you’re not supposed to pick at it or you will be dealing with hair loss
you are supposed to keep it dry and not put oils or creams on it..
Firstly I went round and round in circles with his cradle cap turned out to be eczema which was severely infected. We went privately to see a paediatric dermatologist was the best thing-he prescribed Co-amoxiclav and 2. Fucibet cream then we have since managed with steroids and dentinox shampoo. Please push for a referral to a specialist because the gps are really out of their depth with skin issues from my experience. The anitibiotics cleared everything he mentioned that it was a more expensive antibiotics which was why it isn’t readily given as first line treatment on nhs hope you’re sweetheart isn’t in too much discomfort x
Mustela Newborn Baby Foam Shampoo for Cradle Cap was the only thing that worked for my baby. Pricey but worth it. I got mine at target but you can get it on Amazon too.
I tried oil on my lgs hair and it went like this, was recommended by a friend to use baby dove shampoo and a nit comb worked wonders for her and leave her hair looking horrible
It could be infected, I was also told to oil and wash and gently massage it for it to fall off but it comes back after and honestly it doesn’t bother them and it will fall on its own at some point and it wont come back. So I just let it be and it didn’t get worse and it only lasted a couple months 🤷🏽♀️ not worth the infections in my opinion
I got sick to death of going to the doctors for cradle cap. Hers would weep and bleed and she couldn't stop scratching her head. After my fifth appointment I was told it was actually ezcema! Some hydrocortisone mostly cleared it up though it does frequently return so I have to keep using it.
I did castor oil or coconut oil virgin. Coconut oil is anti microbial but don’t overdo it because too much access oil can make it worst. When I’m doubt pediatrician
Baby could have eczema or a dermatological issue, I recommend seeing a doctor if not a paediatrician

Ours had cradle cap that got infected behind her ears, took her to the GP who prescribed a cream and cleared it up in a couple of days 😊 x
Poor baby, does he seem to be in a lot of pain? As lady above said if u don’t get much help with gp take little one to a+e x
@Fay thank you x
@L N ye we’ve been using that for about 3 months and it doesn’t really seem to be doing anything. I am going to get him back in at the doctors but this will be the 4th time I’ve mentioned it to them and they’ve said ‘it’s fine’
Have you tried dentinox cradle cap shampoo? I have never actually seen cradle cap weep like that before and would ask for check over at the gp
Bless little one i went through this her bedding sheets were sooo dirty and wet and aww she was in pain scratching not sleeping..they told me just like everyone to wash and oil . What cleared it was washing with plain water...and fucidin and making sure she has mittens daily..change the mittens twice a day...i hope the baby gets well soon.
