Incident at school

My little boy (5 years old) tripped whilst going into school and his teacher said she would deal with his cut knee. I’ve taken the plaster off in the evening and there is still gravil in the cut and sticky part of the plaster was on the cut and plaster was full or dirt, hair and gravil. I’ve asked my little boy if they wiped it and he said no just said stop crying your not a baby. Would you be mad ?

@Tia I offered to deal with the cut as I have a mini first aid kit in the car which annoyed me even more. I understand it’s not the worst injury as you say but the infection that could from it not being properly treated are ridiculous as I’m sure you’ll agree.

Yes I would be angry. That is terrible first aid given. Maybe check staff are properly first aid trained - I know in the grand scheme of things a cut knee isnt the worst injury - however to not clean it and then trap all the yuck in with a plaster is just not it. Also I can understand trying to calm a hurt and crying child - with kind words and empathy whilst delivering first aid, but being told to stop crying because your not a baby and then haphazardly having a plaster applied is very poor. The teacher proberly didnt want to disrupt the class - but I'm sure she could have sent him down to first aid?
